### ★★☆☆☆ Inspect thoroughly on receipt!

I was excited for the opportunity to have a decent maple cutting board. I was offered a very nice discount by Made In, so I thought I was getting a good deal, and made the purchase.

Then I read the reviews, which made me wonder if, even with the discount, I hadn't made a mistake.

When it arrived, instead of exposing it to the hazards of wetting it in the sink, i wiped it down with a sanitizing solution. Then, while drying it with a dishtowel, I found a divot in the wood on the smooth side. This was obviously missed during numerous steps in the manufacturing process and even overlooked during final inspection.

I went ahead and rubbed it with the wood conditioner just because I wanted to try and protect it from the humidity of a waterfront home.

I am very disappointed in the fact that this was allowed to pass inspection, especially after years of less than stellar reviews. i haven't even used the board yey because I'm thinking I might be able to return it for a replacement.

It's perfect! It's the size and weight that I wanted, it doesn't have a random hole in the middle for juices to fall through to the counter, it is durable, and it's wood! It's better than the average wooden cutting board but not as expensive as an end grain. Still great for my knives and doesn't put micro plastic shards into my food. I love it.
