California Safer Food Packaging and Cookware Act (AB 1200)

California Safer Food Packaging and Cookware Act of 2021 (or AB 1200), was signed into law on October 5, 2021. This law bans paper-based food packaging containing PFAS chemicals, in addition to require cookware manufacturers to disclose the presence of chemicals, whilst prohibiting misleading advertising on cookware packaging. The intent of this law is purely to enable the residents of the state of California to make informed decisions about exposure to these chemicals.

This warning is added to comply with the AB 1200 regulations. As per said regulations, our Non Stick Products — Non Stick Frying Pan, Non Stick Saute Pan, Non Stick Saucepan, Non Stick Rondeau, Non Stick Sheet Pan across all sizes and Non Stick Products found in the Non Stick 7-Piece Set, and The Stainless Sets — contain the following intentionally added chemicals: PTFE, FEP, PFA.

The products in mention are not in violation of any federal safety regulations, instead this is being added to comply with the AB 1200 regulations. Per this law, there is no minimal content specification, instead it is a "right to know law" for the state of California, on any probable exposure that may be caused due to the presence of traceable amounts of AB 1200 listed chemicals.

The following denotes included chemicals and their DTSC Authoritative List Name. See website below for more information.
