What Size Are Your Side Bowls?

Each Side Bowl in our 4-piece bowl set is 6.5” in diameter, perfect as a snack bowl, cereal bowl, and ice cream bowl. The ideal size for side dishes, they can even serve as a small soup bowl, salad bowl, or pasta bowl. Where are your bowls made?

Our stoneware is made in Stoke-On-Trent, England. The quality of craftsmanship makes them extremely chip-resistant, so they’re perfect for everything from weeknight dinners to special occasion dinner parties. Elegant and understated, they’re the perfect serving dish for making your meal the tabletop’s centerpiece.

What is vitrification?

Vitrification is the process of heating the bowls to their boiling point and then firing them in the kiln to give the clay a smooth glasslike surface. This virtually eliminates pores making the bowls stronger and more resistant to bacteria. Additionally, they’re easily able to withstand our stainless steel flatware. This is the gold standard for any dining room setting in the hospitality industry, and now is available for your home too.

What is the pin in my Side Bowl?

A sign of true quality, all of our Side Bowls will have a pin, or beauty mark, on the back resulting from the glazing process. Everything from round Side Bowl is suspended with pins so that the glazing can be applied evenly front and back. This process eliminates the need for an unfinished foot, or rim, on the underside of the bowl, making each piece more scratch resistant and durable.

What is the benefit of a fully glazed foot?

A fully glazed foot, or the back of the plateware, reduces wear and tear when the plateware is stacked. There will be no scratches on your plateware caused from stacking.

Are your Side Bowls strong?

Yes, our Side Bowls are built to last. Most restaurants and hotels use vitrified plates as chipped plates are dangerous and a violation of health and safety codes. If your Made In plateware chips within your first year of purchase, we’ll replace it. No questions asked.
