Made from red wine, Coke, and not much else, the kalimotxo (or calimocho) is easy to make and easier to drink—a cooling low-ABV option perfect for daytime functions and cookouts. It hails from Basque Country in northern Spain, where it’s both a popular party drink and loathed by oenophiles for its “heretical” pairing of wine and soda. Respectfully, we’re siding with public opinion: It’s cheap, refreshing, and the ingredients are always easy to get a hold of—much like the same-but-different Tinto de Verano. Though we wouldn’t recommend using your best bottle of wine, a reasonably priced tempranillo or grenache does nicely.

Note: If a 1:1 ratio of wine to cola is a bit too sweet for your taste, club soda can be swapped for some of the cola or added to top off the cocktail.
