Where are your plates made?

Our stoneware is made in Stoke-On-Trent, England. The quality of craftsmanship makes them extremely chip-resistant, so they’re perfect for everything from weeknight dinners to special occasion dinner parties. Elegant and understated, they’re the perfect serving dish for making your meal the tabletop’s centerpiece.

Our Wine Glasses are made from high-quality crystal glass that’s blown in Germany.

What is vitrification?

Vitrification is the process of heating the plateware to its boiling point and then firing them in the kiln to give the clay a smooth glasslike surface. This virtually eliminates pores making the plates stronger and more resistant to bacteria. Additionally, they’re easily able to withstand our stainless steel flatware. This is the gold standard for any dining room setting in the hospitality industry, and now is available for your home too.

What is the pin in my plateware?

A sign of true quality, all of our plates will have a pin, or beauty mark, on the back resulting from the glazing process. Each round dinner plate is suspended with pins so that the glazing can be applied evenly front and back. This process eliminates the need for an unfinished foot, or rim, on the underside of the plate, making each piece more scratch resistant and durable.

What is the benefit of a fully glazed foot?

A fully glazed foot, or the back of the plate, reduces wear and tear when the plates are stacked. There will be no scratches on your plates caused from stacking. This is true across salad plates, bread and butter plates, dessert plates, and so on.

Are your Serving Pieces strong?

Yes, our Serving Pices are built to last. Most restaurants and hotels use vitrified plates as chipped plates are dangerous and a violation of health and safety codes. If your Made In plateware chips within your first year of purchase, we’ll replace it. No questions asked.
