# The Made In Grill - Made In

Our Grill is built for performance and hand-welded in Texas. Lightweight, compact, and adaptable, it’s built for serious cooking—wherever the fire is lit.

A handcrafted, portable grill designed for serious heat control—at home, at the tailgate, or off the grid. This patent-pending design features a convertible cooktop, multiple heat levels, and cookware quality finishes. It's restaurant-level performance wherever you're cooking next.

## Description

Built from a hybrid of lightweight carbon steel and stainless steel, and welded by hand in Nebraska, the Made In Grill delivers professional-grade heat retention and responsiveness. This patent-pending design is crafted to run on charcoal, hardwood, or binchotan. It features a removable stainless steel grill grate that slides away to make space to fit the Made In Griddle - everything from pancakes to delicate vegetables and fish are now fair game, with no risk of slipping through the cracks. Cleanup is simple, thanks to a removable stainless steel ash tray, and Stay Cool™ hollow handles wrapped in silicone make transport easy. A custom metal key with a hooked end, helps reposition the grate or adjust hot coals during use with ease.

This grill was made to expand the way you cook outdoors. The two-height adjustable firebed gives you total control over direct and indirect heat zones, while the compact, durable design makes it the perfect companion for small patios, tailgates, and campsite cookouts. It’s the first heat source in the Made In lineup—bringing our kitchen-tested DNA to the fire for the first time.

### ★★★★★ A winner in small grills

This grill was exactly what I had hoped it would be - small enough to be easily portable but certainly good enough to make excellent food on - which does seem to be the 'Made In' philosophy which I have seen in all the various products I have got from Made In previously as well. I also got the cover which is perfectly suited for the grill and I hope will stand it in good stead when the grill is not being used - but based upon initial success, I suspect there is much more grilling to be done in the near future. The biggest thing I like about it is that I am mostly grilling just for two of us - and I really did not want the typical large scale grill - nothing against them, and I have had many of those over the years as well, but these days I am not feeding as many as I used to :)

### ★★★★★ Best Grill I’ve ever owned.

Constructed with premium materials and worked perfectly. Was amazed how well it cleaned with bar keepers. The grill is heavy at over 40 lbs so be prepared with that.

— Luke

### ★★★★★ Stainless Steel Tank

Love this thing. Ended up getting the Stainless Steel version. You can see how thick the gauge they used for the stainless steel - feels like a tank. Using this bad boy for yakitori and kushiyaki!

— Timothy Cao

### ★★★★★ Best outdoor grill

I couldn’t wait to purchase this grill. I made veggie kabobs with ease. Cleanup was a breeze using the stainless steel grill cleaner.

— Missy C

### ★★★★★ For my yakitori too!

I love it! I purchased the stainless special edition. The weight makes it feel like a quality product. I’ll be using it together with my existing grill grate and iron rods for yakitori too! Definitely a great investment for anyone enjoying grilling!

— Frankie

### ★★★★★ Small footprint, mighty grill!

I bought the stainless steel version. Quality build, simple to use, works like a charm! The two-level cooking is priceless, it allows me to sear a steak for a lovely crust then back off the fire to finish cooking w/o burning the exterior. Chicken thighs, pork chops, veggies, all ave been fun to cook and all came out tasty! Love this grill. Next up for me: yakitori!

— Matt M.

### ★★★★★ Gorgeous, built like a tank!

Unbelievable how sturdy and well constructed this beautiful work of art is! Just the ash catcher drawer weighs about 7 pounds! I haven’t been able to use it yet because my patio is getting a severe cleaning to make way for it. Can’t wait.

### ★★★★★ Nice little grill.

Nice hibachi style grill with the unique feature to allow perfect fitting the awesome Made In griddle to it while sliding grill grate into the grills body. The SS grill is well made and heavy construction. The feature to allow moving coal bed up and down to adjust heat is very nice.

A few things I don't like as much:

I would have liked to see the same heavy stainless material used for coal grate and the ash pan so complete grill is all stainless construction and never a worry of rusting out components where carbon steel was used.

I personally would have liked more coal bed height adjustments versus only two. Plus, the way you carry grill with handles of coal bed, it moves some while picking up and walking.

And finally, while the SS grill surface is very nice and heavy duty. I find the width of the "grates" act like a flattop while grilling steaks versus typical grilled sear marks. I plan on making an expanded metal grill surface I can drop in when wanting a more traditional grilling surface and leave the SS grill folded inside (or finding some Asian grilling mesh to lay across grill).

I am sure design elements were to play regarding my only negatives, and grill is very nice. These are just my thoughts, particularly based on price point of grill.

### ★★★★★ Great apt or travel grill

Great for outdoor travel or apartment living w a balcony easy to store and easy to use

— Brian

### ★★★★★ Best grill

Perfect grill for tailgating or camping. It’ll last forever

— Josh G

### ★★★★★ Love it

Wonderful grill. Just the right size and beautifully made. Each time I purchase from made-in I am pleased with the performace. To be fair I am not a professional chef, just a women at home who enjoys cooking with an upgrade in my cookware. Thanks

— evie

### ★★★★★ Fantastic

It is so cool I didn’t want to use it. But, I baked a whole red snapper wrapped in parchment and seasoned with Caribbean spices for lunch. Temp held beautifully. Then a ribeye for dinner. The ash tray worked perfectly, both times. I let it cool until morning, removed the grill grate and soaked it in hot water and dawn for an hour, then with a non metallic scrubber, it came out great.

### ★★★★☆ It's the one

The first thing I noticed was how good the shipping was. It arrived really quickly. Lifting it is the next thing you notice, it's seriously heavy. Without even seeing it, you know it's well made. I've now used it 3 times and can say that I made the right choice. It gives me the flexibility that I wanted. I was going to get a Weber kettle as I've had like 4 or 5 of them over the years, but when I saw this one, I changed my mind. I just had to wait for them to be made again. I always felt like the Weber needed too much charcoal to cook for 2. Last Saturday, with this grill, I was able to put on enough charcoal to just cook 1 steak. On the other hand, I put on 8 burgers the first night I had it when family was in town. It's also easy to use kind of like a yakitori grill. I put the grill plate down to the side and put skewers of meat across the coals. The only thing I didn't like so far was the hamburger grease running off the sloped front of the grill plate. It really should go on top of something if you are cooking some good high fat ground beef burgers.

### ★★★★★ A Grill Like No Other

This is a heavy duty highly functional grill. I look forward to many years using this for both home and away functions.

— Jeff Alan

### ★★★★★ Incredible quality

Love the quality and well thought out design. Made smash burgers and bacon for the first cook and they turned out perfectly. Bonus: the whole house didn’t smell afterwords. With a full coal tray it was plenty hot on the bottom setting. The top setting would sear anything.

— Andysgo

### ★★★★★

The Made In Grill is fantastic!
I was excited when I first saw the promo video, and now I that I have one I'm even more excited every time I use it. Not only is it beautiful but highly functional. The stainless steel grill grates keep food from sticking while cooking evenly. Very happy to have it.

— Christie M.

### ★★★★★

Extremely well built. Large enough to cook on but small enough to be portable

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Masterpiece of Outdoor Cooking — Precision, Power, and Craftsmanship Combined

As someone who takes outdoor cooking seriously from low and slow weekends to weeknight sears the Made In Grill is hands down the best grilling system I’ve ever used. This isn’t just a grill; it’s a culinary workstation engineered with the kind of intention, durability, and chef-forward design that transforms backyard meals into five-star fire cooking.

🔥 Built to Perform, Built to Last

Right out of the box, the quality is unmistakable. Hand-welded in Texas, the carbon steel body feels solid and professional-grade, while the retractable 304 stainless steel grate slides like butter and allows you to swap in the carbon steel griddle in seconds. Everything from the fit of the ash tray to the tactile, hollow-welded handles feels engineered for control and longevity. This isn’t just a cooking tool; it’s a legacy piece.

🍳 Versatility That Inspires Creativity

The griddle is a revelation. Whether I’m making smoky sweet potato hash in the morning or searing snapper with chili-lime butter at sunset, the griddle performs like a dream. Pre-seasoned and ready to go, it delivers restaurant quality results every time. Add the Grill Press, and you’re in smashburger heaven with crusts that snap and sizzle with flavor.

And the best part? This system works with charcoal, hardwood, or Binchotan, giving me the freedom to dial in flavor profiles like a pitmaster or chef depending on the day.

🧰 Tools That Mean Business

The included Grill Tool Kit is in a league of its own. Each piece Griddle Spatula, Fish Spatula, Pigtail Turner, and Bench Scraper is crafted from durable stainless steel and fitted with Micarta handles that feel fantastic in the hand. These tools don’t just look beautiful; they work beautifully. They’re heavy where it counts, agile when you need finesse, and clearly built to last.

🧠 Smart Design Touches

Everything about this grill shows it was designed by people who cook outdoors often and well. The included metal key for adjusting the grate or coals is an elegant safety solution. The hollow handles make repositioning the grill effortless without sacrificing structural integrity. The entire unit is surprisingly portable, yet never sacrifices heat retention or control.

✨ Final Verdict

If you’re looking for a one-and-done outdoor setup that performs like a pro kitchen on the patio, look no further. The Made In Grill is everything I hoped for and more. It’s rugged, refined, and ready for anything. Whether you’re flipping pancakes at sunrise or plating grilled scallops at dusk, this setup will not only keep up—it will inspire you to push your cooking even further.

Five stars. Zero hesitation. This is how outdoor cooking was meant to feel.

### ★★★★★

Absolutely awesome. Great quality and construction. Very portable. Only suggestion would be for some sort of “stand” to hold it up higher.

— Anonymous

### ★★★★☆

Looks good, haven't used it yet, quality is questionable. Maybe the one that was advertised from J.J in Fort Worth made is of better quality. As is I would say that it is priced about 2 hundred high. The advertisement said they were made in Ft Worth, and that was one of the defining factors of the purchase. Would be willing to trade this in for a Ft Worth edition.

— Andy N.

### ★★★★☆

Giving it 4 stars only because I wish the grill grate and the fire grate were removable for easier cleaning. But I do love that i can swap to my griddle with ease. I own a lot of Made In products and love their products.

— David T.

### ★★★★★

Thank goodness I didn’t hesitate to order one. I wish Made In had a stand for it tho.

— Chez G

### ★★★★★

Just finished my first cook with the new grill...rack of lamb. Everything went great. Love the adjustable fuel tray, really allows you to dial in the amount of heat you want. The grill is over built and should last many years. Can't wait to use it again!

— Ricky

### ★★★★★

Well built, solid steel construction that should last forever. Great cooking features like plenty of airflow and multiple bed levels allow for tuning desired heat levels. Only thing missing is a lid or cover to contain the heat.

— Stephen V.

### ★★★★☆

Very good but could use modifications. Built like a tank and looks like it will last a very long time. However the tray that holds the charcoal isn’t deep so there’s a cooler spot towards the back of the grill. I think it’s because you need room to reposition the grill for the griddle but they could have made it a bit deeper.

— william c.

### ★★★★☆

Very well packaged, high quality materials. I wish the grill grate was removable for easy cleaning, but not a deal breaker. The metal expanded when hot, making the coal rack not the easiest to move up and down. Not necessarily for this product, but the grill mat melted with the coals lit above it. I don’t know why you would design a mat that isn’t meant to be used when the grill is in use (?). They sent a replacement mat but I honestly don’t know what I’ll use it for. The grill is good, not great.

— Thomas T.

### ★★★★★

Yes I absolutely love my made in grill . Its solid construction and quality craftsmanship have made this a winner . And the fact that I can effortlessly swap the grate for the griddle is a real game changer . Adds a whole new dimension . I love me some smash burgers .

— Daniel W.

### ★★★★☆

Nice compact grill but be careful not to overfill charcoal because it does get very hot. Less is more!!!

— Daniel G.

### ★★★★★

Great size for cooking for 2-4 people. Versatile. Grill or griddle, both work great!

### ★★★☆☆
