3- The mat is a very useful tool to have to protect the surface under the grill. You’ll use it a lot.

It is a nice mat, but everyone needs to be warned that this mat is not to be used while you are actually using the grill because the grill gets very hot and the mat can and will melt.  This is strictly for storing so that the metal legs, which will rust, do not damage and stain whatever surface you are putting it on.
