But I am concerned about the longevity of the material, which is in contact with hot and not quite but close to sharp surfaces. The biggest issue is the build-up of water during cooking. When you tilt the cover even a bit, the water runs off. This can be onto another surface creating a mess or back into the pan. If it is back into the pan and into contact with hot grease, it can be a bit problematic. We are happy to have purchased it however as it does serve a need we have. This device will work, and does avoid the challenge of storing separate lids. So I will use this when simmering or cooking things that need to be covered, but confess, I did buy a universal 2 pack of tempered glass lids that fit multiple size pans on Amazon for when I need to see through the lid. I researched a lot of cookware and still think made in was the best option. I am not a professional cook so I do prefer to use tempered glass lids.
