Made In For The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
A Cause Near and Dear to Made In
May is Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month, which also happens to coincide with Mother’s Day. At the intersection of these two events stand Amanda Alvizo and her son, Cooper.
Amanda Alvizo leads our Customer Support team and was Made In’s first employee. Cooper, now 6, was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis before he was born.
Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease that impacts the whole body. Primarily, it affects the respiratory and digestive systems wherein it deteriorates the normal function of the lungs and pancreas. For Cooper, that means hours of breathing treatments and physiotherapy before school and before bedtime. For Amanda, that means knowing that a common cold could be a life or death matter for her son.
A Supportive Collection
In honor of Amanda and Cooper’s story, we’re releasing a special May edition of our Non Stick Frying Pan in the official color of Cystic Fibrosis awareness: purple. 15% of sales will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In addition, our Beaune Gray Chef and Santoku Knife sales will also go to supporting the cause.Support CF Research
Supporting the Cause
15% of sales from this collection will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. They’re leading the charge on mitigating treatments and will be integral in, one day, finding a cure.Support CF Research
"Each year, my family fundraises not only for our Cooper, but for the roughly 30,000 people in the U.S. and 70,000 around the world who are fighting that CF fight. Having the support of the Made In community means the world to us.” - Amanda Alvizo
